Covid-19 Update

As Kimaid prepares for a possible return to business by the end of June, we will be monitoring the levels of COVID 19 in our community to help us make that decision. In the lead up to our return, existing customers will be contacted by one of us to see who would like to resume the service, and to discuss needs, and concerns both you and I may have moving forward. New enquiries for service are always welcome.

As always, cleaning standards remain at the same level of detail as before. My staff have always had the option to wear gloves or not while working, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms. This option continues but for those who choose to not wear gloves staff are required to wash their hands with soap and water more regularly. For those who choose to wear gloves, it has always been common practice to change them before and after cleaning kitchens, and bathrooms. Sanitizer will also be included with the hand washing regime. And, all staff will be masked while in your home. In addition, we will continue to use the same effective cleaning products in disinfecting all hard surfaces including door knobs or any surfaces touched by hand. Going forward we will pay even more attention to those details and, we are always investigating the use of more effective products to supplement our current brands.

There are just a few items to be aware of before staff visit your home:

  1. the day before, you will be notified by Kimaid to ensure your household is safe
  2. staff will arrive at your house gloved, masked, and with shoe overlays over top of their inside shoes once they are inside your home
  3. for those using gloves while working in your home, staff’s hands will be washed/sanitized when changing their gloves
  4. staff will maintain physical distancing from anyone in the home and
  5. cleaning equipment such as vacuums will be wiped down and sanitized after each customer

Upon arrival to your home, staff will ask you the following questions:

  1. Have you travelled outside of Canada or the province in the last 14 days?
  2. Do you have a fever higher than 38C (100.4F), a new cough, or a cough that’s getting worse?
  3. Have you been in close contact with someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
  4. Have you been in close contact with someone who has travelled and has a fever or a cough?

At any time prior to your scheduled visit, if you suspect anyone is unwell or expressing the symptoms of COVID 19 please inform us right away. Alternatively, if any of Kimaid’s staff expresses COVID19 symptoms, we will be in contact with you to update as required.
